A Space to Slow Down, Create & Connect

Nestled in the heart of Newbury, our open access ceramics studio is a relaxed, inspiring space designed to help you reconnect with your creativity.

Whether it’s been decades or just a few months since your last hands-on art class, you’ll feel right at home.

Led by ceramist and mentor Cáit Gould, the studio offers playful, low-pressure teaching and a community of likeminded makers.

Meet Your Pottery Guide, Cáit

With over 20 years of experience in ceramic art and teaching, Cáit brings wisdom, warmth, and a deep love for the process of making.

Her calm, nurturing style helps beginners and seasoned makers alike feel seen and supported.

Her philosophy? There’s no such thing as a mistake in ceramics, only happy accidents and new ideas.

FAQs

  • Absolutely!
Our workshops are designed to be welcoming and beginner-friendly. No prior experience needed.

If you're interested in becoming a member, some experience is required as the studio is largely self-managed, but we’re happy to chat and see if it’s the right fit for you.

  • For one-off workshops, we’ll glaze and fire your pots after the session – you’ll be able to collect them in 3–5 weeks, and we’ll give you a collection date before you leave.

If you're on a 6-week course, you’ll do your own glazing in the final weeks. We’ll then fire your pieces, ready for collection once they're out of the kiln.

Either way, we’ll give you a collection date at the end of your visit.

  • Yes!
We offer private throwing lessons and group parties for kids and adults. Perfect for birthdays, unique dates or just for fun.

  • Absolutely – we offer digital gift vouchers, perfect for last-minute gifts.

If you’d like something to give in person, you can add a printed voucher and greetings card, available for collection from the studio or delivered to your door.
